The Manteo House Legacy

Originally the Evans House, The Manteo House was built in 1874 by John and Rosa Evans. It stayed in the Evans family for almost 150 years until Michael Basnight bought it in 2023. The original land stretched all the way to Shallowbag Bay, which is why the front of the house is oriented in that direction.
